Steiif - Mr Googly arrives and he is a must see....

... Bear.

He is so Cute !!!

Steiff EAN 036620 MR. GOOGLY

One of the earliest known examples of a googly-eyed bear was produced in Britain in 1916. But it is believed that googly eyes first made their appearance in dolls much earlier.

Googly eyes were supposedly created to capture the wide-eyed innocence and wonder of childhood. Over the years, many Teddy bear manufacturers created designs that featured these whimsical eyes – including Steiff.

Two notable Steiff examples include a googly blue-eyed Petsy from the 1920’s and a fanciful rabbit from the 1950’s. But Steiff never made a bear quite like Mr. Googly – until now! Sewn from distressed mohair to give him an aged appearance, this new creation is all about laughter and fun.

He’s sure to make you smile. His slightly oversized head adds to his wonderfully quirky appeal. Mr. Googly is certain to add a bit of joy and originality to your Steiff collection.

Made of finest mohair, beige, jointed, surface washable, with glass eyes and growler, limited edition of 1,925 pieces worldwide, with gold-plated “Button in Ear”

Height 31 cm

R John Wright has released a picture of The Palmer Cox The Canadian.....

Here is the first studio photo of the "Canadian" from the popular Palmer Cox Brownie Collection!

The Canadian is true to the original Palmer Cox illustrations and ready for the upcoming winter months outfitted in a wonderful toboggan outfit made completely of wool felt.

This whimsical character made his appearance in Cox's fourth Brownie book published in 1894 titled "The Brownies Around the World."

Based on the original Palmer Cox illustrations, the Brownie Canadian from R. John Wright Dolls is made of the finest all-wool felt and jointed at the neck and shoulders. He has a molded felt character face, hand painted features, a mohair wig, and incredibly tiny sculptural hands. Measuring 8 1/2" tall (without his hat), the Canadian has heavy wire inside his legs to enable him to be self-standing.

The Brownie Canadian is outfitted in a colorful outfit consisting of an all-felt greatcoat with felt covered buttons and sash, detailed mukluk boots, and a matching tassled cap. No detail has been spared to bring this amusing Palmer Cox character vividly to life.

The Brownie Canadian is produced in a limited edition of just 250 pieces worldwide. He comes inside a deluxe RJW presentation box with a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity and the forms for owner registration.
