Dean's spring catalogue starts to arrive........
......with such delights as the sold out edition of the Blue Bear.
This bear, it has to be said, has to be seen, to be believed. The Mohair streaked with blue is very different and works so well.
Now who loves to stare up at the clouds all day, well tilt your head down from the clouds and look at this wonderful little guy called Nimbus. He is shore to whisk you off in to a wonderful teddy bears picnic daydream.
Our Queen celebrates her 80th Birthday and Dean's has produced two bears in celebration. A white bear made from alpaca and a blue mohair bear. This white alpaca bear named Queen Elizabeth II 80th Birthday Bear wears a tiara and a specially designed Swarovski Brooch. This is a fully working Brooch and can be removed and worn by yourself. All this at such a good price.
We also see a delightful new Panda called Bamboo.
and finally from the fun filled delivery is possibly the most outrageous piece in the 2006 collection.
Wham Bam.
Wham Bam is a fabulous Orange and Green Mohair Bear, and what a combination. He is just amazing.
As usual I am having trouble deciding which is my favorite one out of the 2006 collection, because I just love then all !!!!!

Do I here $10,000.00 , yes I do.......
..... said the auctioneer at the The International Teddy Bear Relief Fund auction and the hammer came down.
Sold, was the one of kind Magnolia by R.John.Wright.
"Magnolia" is made of custom-dyed russet-colored mohair plush and measures approximately 30" tall - the largest RJW bear ever made. She is fully jointed and includes a sculptural character face with inset glass eyes, a leather nose, felt paw pads and resin claws. This magnificent bear also features one-of-a-kind lovely magnolia blossoms completely handmade of felt at the RJW design studio.
The International Teddy Bear Relief Fund (ITBRF) is an international effort to raise funds with teddy bear auctions, raffles, and sales around the world to aid those in need. Teddy Bears have long been acknowledged as universal symbols of healing and consolation. Project coodinators in: America, Linda & Wally Mullins - well-known teddy bear promoters and philanthropists who have been associated with raising funds at teddy bear events to benefit children's charities since 1983 - are coordinating the ITBRF events in the United States.
As part of this effort, an ITBRF auction was held recently in San Diego, CA to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina along the Gulf Coast. The auction featured one-of-a-kind, limited edition, and antique dolls and teddy bears donated by individuals and companies from around the world. Among the items donated was a large One-of-a-Kind bear creation from R. John Wright Dolls titled "Magnolia" - the state flower of both Louisiana and Mississippi, two of the most severely affected areas of the hurricane.
At the auction event on January 14, 2006 at 5:00PM, "Magnolia" realized the highest bid of the evening at $10,000. All proceeds from the sale of "Magnolia" will go to HABITAT FOR HUMANITY - the world-renowned ecumenical housing ministry. As part of their efforts, Habitat will launch "Operation Home Delivery," a three-phase response to provide assistance and rebuilding opportunities along the Gulf Coast in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Walt Disney Classic Collection's Second Quarter announced with a........
.......Magnificent Signature series piece from Fantasia.
Magical Maelstrom Ltd.Ed.1000
Each of the brooms was individually sculpted
(and not replicated in production) and the sculpture shows
an animation progression from this classic film sequence.
If you freeze a moment of the film, you will see all the brooms in unison
in the same pose pitching the water from the pails.
That's much easier to produce of course since you can replicate
the same broom sculpture in different sizes for the sculpture.
In this sculpture however, it was chosen for the first time in WDCC
to animate a progression of a film sequence showing the brooms from the moment
when they start to pitch the water from the pails to the point
where water is pouring all the way out. This tells the animated story
of the brooms action sequence. So, each broom is sculpted individually
in the progression taking many more days to sculpt and produce ...
but what one might expect from a Signature Series release!
To order this piece, please click on the heading above.
if you do choose to order this piece you can pay us on the Lay-a-way system, with monthly payments being spread over ten months. For this option, please call 01531 635 290 and speak to Graeme.
I will post more pieces from the Second Quarter soon!
