R John Wright Auction Pieces bring in the Hunny.....

.........for Charity.

The first of two pieces donated by R John Wright was >>

"TIME FOR A LITTLE SOMETHING"

Specially created to commemorate Winnie-the-Pooh's 80th birthday year, this One-of-a-Kind piece was carefully based on a charming original illustration by E. H. Shepard which appeared in the first of the Winnie-the-Pooh books published in 1926.
This exciting auction piece featured an authentic R. John Wright Winnie-the-Pooh bear measuring approximately 14" tall, fully jointed and made of custom-dyed mohair and wool plush. The only one of his kind in the world, Pooh is designed to stand on his tip toes and has a unique upward-glancing tilt to his head. He has hand embroidered features and leather covered "shoe-button" eyes (a first for an RJW Pooh). Pooh stands on a beautiful custom-crafted wooden chair in front of his authentically-detailed wooden corner cupboard. Inside is his precious Hunny pot handmade of earthenware. The cupboard is built into the textured walls of his pantry. The base of the piece measures 24" square and the entire height is approximately 30".

Time for a Little Something was on display for the first and only time at the Doll and Teddy Bear Weekend at Walt Disney World.
During the special auction held on May 20th at 7:30 PM EST, this One-of-a-Kind diorama sold to the highest bidder for the price of $10,000.
A deluxe bound certificate of authenticity hand signed by R. John Wright and Susan Wright was also included.

The second piece auctioned was >>

"BRAVE LITTLE TAILOR"

Brave Little Tailor, is one of the most well-known of the classic Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts. Released in 1938 at the height of Mickey's popularity, this charming fairy tale featured Minnie Mouse in the role of the lovely princess and Mickey as the humble tailor who wins her heart. This landmark masterpiece film is considered by many to be one of the most perfect animated shorts ever made. Audiences eagerly lined up to see their favorite mouse - and his sweetheart - in one of their best 'dramatic' roles. The film remains among the crown jewels of classic Disney animation.
R. JOHN WRIGHT'S Brave Little Tailor One-of-a-Kind shown here is a completely authentic reproduction of Mickey and Minnie as they appeared in their delightful period roles. Measuring approximately 12" tall and fully jointed for poseability, both Mickey and Minnie are constructed of the finest all-wool felt with molded and hand painted features and a leather nose. Over his trademark red shorts, Mickey wears a felt tunic and his costume includes Medieval peasant shoes, a jaunty felt hat with feather, a custom-made pair of oversized shears hand carved of wood with silver-leaf finish, and a leather pouch hanging from his belt. "Princess Minnie" is beautifully costumed in a full skirt made of custom-dyed felt with several petticoats, a pointed Medieval hat made of felt with a gossamer veil of silk organza, elegant long gloves, and shoes featuring custom-made buckles hand carved of wood with silver-leaf finish. Both figures are posed in front of a specially-created hand painted background. Overall height: 20". A deluxe bound certificate of authenticity hand signed by R. John Wright and Susan Wright is included.

Brave Little Tailor was on display for the first and only time at the Doll and Teddy Bear Weekend at Walt Disney World. During a special auction held on May 20th at 7:30 PM EST, Brave Little Tailor sold for $19,000. This was the highest price paid at the auction event.
