Artist Background - Maggie Iacono......

.....Maggie grew up in Hopkins, MN and graduated with a degree in elementary education from State University of New York, Fredonia.

Maggie was a teacher before she started creating dolls, she worked in her homeland America and she even took a job in Australia.



Maggie met her husband Tony, another American teacher and married in 1976.

Maggie then began making dolls in 1980. Her dolls were so successful, tony soon joined her in the now family business.




Maggie, Tony and their three daughters now live outside of Philadelphia, PA.

Since starting to make Felt Dolls, Maggie has been elected to the NAIDA - National Institute of American Doll Artists - in 1993.

Maggie and Tony work full time in their home studio, along with several outside assistants, to produce an average of five editions of seventy dolls each year which have helped them win several awards for their work:-

Doll Reader Magazine's DOTY Award,
Dolls Magazine's Dolls Award of Excellence,
Maggie's dolls are exhibited in many galleries and museums, including the Louvre in Paris.



The dolls and their clothing are fully designed and made by Maggie Made Dolls in America.
